The Gift - Art Print

Artists Inspiration: Inspired by a term in nature called the “Nuptial Gift”; in the animal kingdom when a male wants to mate with a female he brings a gift, usually food, to show his worthiness to his future partner. I believe this is something we do in relationships , a gift or an act of kindness shows you are highly valued in the relationship.  The Tui is giving the gift of a Monarch butterfly to the Fantail, the yellow flowers to represent friendship. I often include a vessel in my paintings, and in The Gift the painted vase is in fact a gift from my husband’s family that we truly love.

About the Artist

Established Auckland artist Angie Dennis has been painting professionally since 2002. Angie studied environmental science which perhaps explains her love for preserving flora and fauna in her artworks. Angie is continually inspired by the unique landscape of New Zealand and is constantly pushing boundaries on how she sees life in her new found home.  Her work is displayed in collections throughout New Zealand and internationally and were also displayed on the TVNZ set for the 2007 America’s cup.  Angie exhibits in a number of galleries around New Zealand and also combines home with gallery where she creates her unique and original artwork. Angie’s prints are produced to the highest quality, using UV light fast inks and printed and framed in New Zealand.
